Individual Works - Vol. 1
(text only in portuguese)
Here Americo Docha Neto fully describes 29 species presenting more than 1400 high resolution photos, in average with 50 photos of each species, brings in scale fresh flower exsicata, detailed table of vegetative and floral dimensions, checklist and botanical systematics, further than 225 drawings and diagrams.
This work presents a complementation of description of the new genus Grandiphyllum where its species are revised and new alliances created.
The photographic approach allows to visualize the detailed anatomical structures of the reproductive organs and those involved in attracting the pollinator, as for example, the elaiophores when present; each photo presents detailed explanation of the emphasized structures.
The work includes a large texts collection about orchids introduction and technics involving anatomy, biochemistry, mineral, genetic and citogenetic nutrition. Further than these, there are a large glossary and a revised and extended Latin dictionary of botanical epithets.
This work is presented in an autorun CD-ROM, written just in Portugese language, free of installation, with very straight forward and friendly interface. A great knowledge of computer science is not necessary for its use.
